Girl sits on alligators - Level 3
This story is about one family. They all wrestle alligators. Samantha is nine years old. She also wrestles alligators. Samantha started wrestling when she was about five years old. When she started, she was really excited.
The family has an alligator farm. The farm is a family business. Three generations are employed there.
Until two years ago, the entire family wrestled alligators. But seventy years old Erwin recently retired. He wants the younger generations continue the business.
Samantha also feeds the alligators. Samantha’s parents have no hesitation about involving their daughter in the family business.
They have never been too worried about Samantha wrestling alligators because she’s been around them her whole life. And she needed to handle them as she grew up so she would learn about them and understand them.
Her father says that it would be more dangerous to not let her handle the alligators and then one day she would touch one that she’s not supposed to and get hurt. So it’s actually much safer to let her wrestle them and teach her how to do it properly.
And the nine years old is OK with what she is doing.
Samantha says that she was a little afraid when she started but as she grew older and older, she started getting more and more comfortable with them.
She likes wrestling alligators because it helps her to get stronger. She thinks that one day she will be wrestling the big alligators just like her dad.
Samantha thinks everyone should have a chance to get in with the alligators.
She thinks that most kids her age would probably like it and she would like to teach them if they don’t know because it’s a really fun sport.
